Customers
coming to Orielly Chevy looking for their ultimate sedan option admittedly have
a wide variety to choose from, and we have many reasons to guide them towards
what we feel their best choice in the market is. The seasoned folks at Autoblog
write that there are some “very real headwinds” facing the new Malibu's
success and prowess, as crossover SUVs tend to dominate much of the landscape,
and the most proper and fit of sedans are now really under pressure to offer
the best in sensibility and features.
Turbocharge
The
six-speed automatic is left behind for a completely reworked CVT, and the
engine remains a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four. Much larger upper and
lower openings are filled with a unique distorted-diamond mesh, and
improvements recently made to the low-beam lighting force some elements to move
down nicely, displaying less busy and loud brightwork at hand. In the rear,
dual exhaust tips now poke out from a very heavily-revised lower fascia, now on
hand to replace the tips that are tucked and hidden behind the previous
Malibu's bumper skin.
Seasoned
car writer Alex Kierstein claimed that the new Malibu does not feel terribly
heavy during handling on many different road types, and the 1.5-liter engine
works just fine here as the source of power. The delivery, ride, and power
handling itself feels constantly able, firm, and exciting, while evoking a
sense of accessibility and pleasant handling that you'll be eager to step into
for your daily drive. The continuously variable transmission is destined to
improve overall efficiency, and the damping easily smooths out the smaller of
imperfections on the highway during the drive. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
now come standard for the Malibu, and all of the higher trim levels come with
embedded navigation.
The
Infotainment 3 is greatly improved upon last year's design to make commands and
navigation much easier, and it's a very easy way to keep the drive supplied
with necessary navigation and numerous entertainment options. You'll definitely
want to take a close look at how space and many different types of new
technology are great assets of the new Malibu, and how the weight of the car
has shed 300 total pounds of curb weight. The real heart and soul of the RS
trim exists within the ways in which it adds outright to the sporty vibe,
providing cool extras like a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Backing
out of the driveway is where many accidents happen, and we have seen study after
study that claims how dangerous of a short little journey this is. This is
where kids like to linger, and a rear vision backup camera that now comes
standard will help the car receive a perfect safety rating from the NHTSA.
Every time you hit the road in next year's Chevy Malibu, you can expect
class-leading protection, and the Driver Confidence II Package adds forward
collision warning, as well as front pedestrian braking. Sedans are still big
business, even though front-running SUVs like our very own Equinox are becoming
more popular every day. We hope you rank the new Malibu as high as we do for a
new sedan: budget-friendly doesn't mean featureless, and definitely still means
stealth and savvy!
