Brand-New 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Mirror Light Accessory Featured on GM Authority

As there are so many things to enjoy about spring in Arizona we have had plenty of great conversations here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson about various new features and new models arriving towards the end of the year! The staff on hand at GM Authority ran a story on their blog about the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban, and a very unique new side-view mirror accessory that projects the Chevy emblem that comes as a dealer-installed option.

This optional accessory snaps onto the underside of the side mirrors and acts a sort of puddle light that projects the Chevy Bow Tie emblem onto the pavement running next to the door. It's the first time Chevy has offered up anything like this, and although we've seen puddle lamps on past models they never projected the logo we love so much. Your model simply needs to already have up-level mirrors with puddle lamps, then its' just a $135 option to acquire through us here at the dealer. You'll be able to get it on LT, RST, and Z71 trim levels and standard on Premier and High Country trims.

For 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban LT, RST, and Z71 trims, the option requires the Luxury Package, which includes the following features:

·        Driver Alert Package content
·        HD Surround Vision
·        Rear Pedestrian Alert
·        Memory settings
·        Outside heated power-adjustable, power-folding, body-color mirrors with driver-side auto-dimming and integrated turn signal indicators
·        Power tilt and telescopic steering column
·        Automatic heated steering wheel
·        Second-row outboard heated seats
·        Second-row power 60/40 split-folding bench seats
·        Third-row power 60/40 split-folding bench seats

This cool new mirror light accessory is the third branded illumination feature for the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban. The first two accessories include the Chevy script and Chevy logo in the tail lamps, and the illuminated Bow tie, or Glow Tie, emblem. The brand-new Tahoe was praised by the Car and Driver staff for its excellent independent rear suspension, roomy cabin, and superior V8 offerings in the engine department. The incoming model has literally been stretched to provide more cargo and passenger space and receives a slew of new technology as well as the addition of a diesel option.

The incoming Suburban model is the biggest SUV to wear the Chevy bowtie and a serious competitor to rivals such as the Ford Expedition Max. The Suburban also now offers a diesel option with loads of torque and great choices like the RST model. This is a sporty appearance package that can be also equipped with the diesel engine. The head-up display and digital gauge-cluster are bigger than before, and there are two 12.6-inch screens mounted behind the front seats and a 10-inch touchscreen fitted into the center stack as well as the standard capability for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This pair of capable and resilient people movers will be on display for test drive likely late fall, and we'll keep you posted about their ETA and other fantastic features!

Chevy Silverado ZRX Could Possibly Score 6.2-Liter LT4 V8 Engine

Since Spring is finally here, so many area residents that come to see us at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson constantly have trucks on the mind! What is not to love when the interiors have become locations of much more luxury, and off-road versions have so many features to help the mower through massive mud and over wayfaring rocks? The staff of GM Authority offered up a piece on their blog this week that confirmed the upcoming Chevy Silverado ZRX may receive the automaker's supercharged 6.2-L LT4 V8 engine.

It's a performance engine highly focused on trucks and is now slated to find its way into the Chevy Silverado ZRX off-road pickup, which will compete with sworn rivals in the form of the Ford Raptor and soon-arriving Ram Rebel TRX. This exciting and very muscular engine currently resides in the Camaro ZL1, where it cranks out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. GM Authority was the very first to report on the existence of the Silverado ZRX: they uncovered a trademark filing for the name last summer and revealed exclusive details about the truck in a subsequent report published in September.

The Silverado ZRX will be of a similar vein of the Colorado ZR2, featuring more robust suspension, MultMatic DSSV dampers, front and rear electronic lockers, and modified bumper treatments for honed-in departure and approach angles. There are a few hints that GM will offer a more powerful engine option as well, and this specific version of the 6.2-L LT4 V8 will be used in other GM products, such as its full-size SUVs in the upper leagues. This gives a bit of credit to the rumors that GM is also hard at work on a performance-focused Cadillac Escalade with a supercharged V8 engine of some variant.

What is most exciting when you concoct a truck as capable as this is the premise of putting its money where its mouth is and awaiting the donning of the checkered flag at the finish line! It was also announced this year that the new off-road racing program for the Silverado ZRX will see off-road race team Hall Racing cleverly situate a Chevy Silverado LT Trail Boss with MultMatic DSSV dampers in the Best of the Desert off-road series. This prized model will serve as a real-world proving ground for the Silverado ZRX, allowing Chevy to further research suspension and other components in demand for the current motor sports environment.

We will keep you posted on the coming updates and information we receive on the Silverado ZRX and its features and form. You will also find a few new unique changes to the cabin, with customized seats and ZRX badges throughout. The vehicle will also no doubt see benefit from the improved interiors coming down the line for the Silverado, expected to arrive during the 2022 year.

2022 Chevy Bolt SUV: Motor Trend Outlines Expansion of the Electric Family

The staff on hand at Motor Trend was enamored enough with the ChevyBolt EV to make it their 2017 Car of the Year, and they were back at the digital presses to cover just what will happen down the road for the 2022 EUV model. This is a concept that is being worked on that will attract customers who are looking for an electric SUV instead of a tall hatchback that also displays sleeker styling. The Bolt EUV is stretched another 3 inches between the wheels for more interior space, and 5 to 6 inches overall.

A bit more upright styling will make it appear more like an SUV sporting low ground clearance, instead of a playful icon from past tense video game titles! The longer wheelbase will make space for a battery bigger than the standard Bolt's 66-kW-hr pack, which could provide a range boost above the current 259 miles. The current plans still just involve front-wheel drive only, and both the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV will remain on the BEV2 platform.

They will also both continue with the same battery and charging technology as opposed to the option of GM's new Ultium pack. Items that were put on high priority after asking customers here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson and many other locations what they desired were better seats, an upgraded infotainment system, and a push-button gear selector. The Super Cruise and sunroof options will also be found on the updated Bolt EUV, a monumental step into the future of autonomous driving.

Super Cruise is among the array of features that are blowing minds worldwide: we were once hesitant to take our hands off the wheel, and this technology is one of the most promising features out there to take the extreme strain off of a long trip. This new model also offers a hitch-mounted bike rack that is available for the outside, allowing for the freeing up of cargo space. Second-row legroom and trunk space are where the major improvements are seen with this model, as well as the specifics regarding charging. This is what it will all boil down to when customers are making their decision for an Eco-conscious change in vehicle ownership and happily zip away into their weekend without the need to tend to the consistent presence of the gas pump.

The 11 Kw charging inverter will mean shorter charging times on the go and while at home, and be integral in helping many “not feel the pain of the pump”.  GM President Mark Ruess claimed himself over the past week that “thousands of GM scientists, engineers, and designers are working to execute a historic reinvention of the company”, and that satisfying millions of customers will occur after finding the key to ultimate sustainability. Seeing more charging stations pop up, cultivating interest in electric-derived power, and a longing for the planet to sustain itself are all ingredients in what will be seen as a great solution, and we'll continue to report back to you on release dates, developments, and availability!

GM Authority Outlines 2020 Traverse Dimensions as They Fare to the Competition

The Chevy Traverse is an SUV that faces the typical competition from just about every mainstream auto brand in the nation! This is a wildly popular category right here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson, and this year's model is built on the extended-wheelbase version of the GM C1 platform which it shares most directly with the Buick Enclave. The Chevy Blazer, Cadillac XT6, and GMC Acadia ride on the same one, and while it is ready to heftily haul families and all their gear, the Traverse sees no less than ten rivals from the competition.

The GM Authority blog ran a story last week that set out to see just how big and spacious the Traverse is compared to its adversaries and crunch the numbers for some valuable clues. The 2020 Chevy Traverse rides on a 120.9-inch wheelbase, which is the longest in its segment. It sports an overall length of 204.3 inches, a width of 78.6 inches, and a 70.7-inch roof height. It is the longest overall and one of the widest and tallest, with its closest rival in overall size coming in the form of the Dodge Durango.

It is just slightly longer than the full-size, body-on-frame 2020 Chevy Tahoe SUV, although the Tahoe is roughly two inches wider and taller. The dimensions of the exterior allow for a nice payoff when you get down to passenger space, offering up generous amounts of headroom, legroom, and shoulder room. Within its segment, the 2002 Traverse ranks above-average in almost every dimension and provides the most accommodating space of all for third-row passengers. The Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride come close in the space race, with the sporty Mazda CX-9 and the Toyota Highlander being the smallest in the segment with the least spacious third-row seating overall.

One important attribute that this article lays out well is regarding the cargo capacity and how the Traverse dominates its competition in that category. Behind the third row is 23 cubic feet of cargo, coming in first place without a doubt in the race. Only the Atlas and Telluride are close behind at all, with 21 and 20.6 cubic feet, respectively. Behind the first row with the second and third row folded, and all rear seats folded, the Traverse boasts an overall cargo volume of 98.2 cubic feet, with only the Atlas coming at all close at 96.8. If your business or family requires what seems like a daunting amount of space to flourish, one fantastic choice is the Traverse, clearly leading the way as far as how much you can carry and the cold hard statistics of size!

2021 Trax First Review Via Kelley Blue Book Has “Confident Stance, Fresh Style”

The Kelley Blue Book staff have long been a great source of authority for anyone to refer to before visiting us here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson to make their final purchase decision. This past week they ran an in-depth feature on the Chevy Trax, the awesome-and-able compact SUV with a brand-new Midnight Edition sporting black accents available for the LT trim. Kelley Blue Book felt that it fares well against rivals Kia Seltos and Honda HR-V, even though the competition at times is understandably fierce.

This write-up also claims that the fiercest rival may be within the own Chevy family, as the all-new 2021 Chevy Trailblazer. The Trax still offers up a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which this review team claim provides a reasonable amount of muscle for driving uphill, plus tech like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. This model uses a 6-speed automatic transmission that will appeal to those who don't have a need for a continuously variable automatic transmission like that found in the Honda HR-V. It is added here that if you are always finding yourself fighting for a parking spot or needing to fit in a small garage, the Trax's size is definitely favorable.

The feature of the Trax that KBB thought was the best was the fact that even the least-expensive 2021 Trax comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration. An integrated 4G LTE Wi-Fi system brings fast internet access using passenger's phones, tablets, or laptops, providing access for up to seven devices. Once inside, the Chevy Trax boasts a tidy 2-row / 5-passenger cabin. Cargo room resides at 48.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, and a respectable 18.7 cubic feet with them upright. If you wish, you can also fold the front passenger seat down flat to make way for items up to 8 feet long right in the interior.

After taking a few steps back to look, the Trax has a confident SUV stance due to its short overhangs. Both the LS and LT trims sport 16-inch aluminum wheels, and the higher-level LT has heated, body-color side mirrors as well as taillights with LED accents. The brand-new Midnight edition sees the addition of 18-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels, front and rear black skid plates, and other darkened elements. At the simplest trim level, a base LS now includes remote keyless entry, 4-way manual-adjust driver's seat, single-zone air conditioning, and compass. The infotainment system sees the combination of a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity and a 6-speaker AM/FM audio system with SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth streaming, and two USB inputs.

The engine on board is a 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Generating 138 horsepower, it's a fuel-efficient and eco-friendly model that can achieve up to 31 mpg. Front-wheel drive is the default setup, while all-wheel drive AWD is available. Keeping you safe at all times during the drive are 10 airbags, including rear-seat mounted thorax, side-curtain, and front-occupant knee airbags. Optional in the LT, the Driver Confidence Package bundles blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors. GM's telematics subscription service provides necessary connectivity to vital emergency services, remote vehicle access, and much more!

The Truth about Cars Blog Claims 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Duramax Possesses “The Perfect Engine”

Even though there has been much talk and debate surrounding diesel over the past few years, all of us here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson recognize its awesome potential and widely-known characteristics of raw power and great mileage output. Compression-ignition engines have now become quite common in the truck market, even if generally limited to heavy-duty, three-quarter-ton and larger models. The Truth About Cars blog recently ran a feature about their love for the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500, powered by a Duramax 3.0-liter inline-six, and paired to a 10-speed automatic.

Head staff writer Chris Tonn claims right off the bat that “he's not sure if he's ever fallen so hard for a powertrain”, a pretty good sign of high quality for a first impression. He claimed at the first drive that the inline-six engine pours power in a very smooth, seamless rush, while still having the ability to be very quiet and balanced. 9,200 pounds is the towing rating, and Chris laments that “this 3.0-liter oil-burner is perfect for that kind of duty”. The 4-wheel drive model maxes out on the EPA scale at 29 mph highway, and 25 mpg combined.

You still know that this is a truck you're driving, as parking a 20-foot long beast takes both practice and planning – but the rewards of having the drive feel quiet and controlled are present during every trip. The audio controls on the 8.0 – inch touchscreen here are billed by the testing team as “responsive and intuitive”, and the navigation displays are bright and clear. Both front and rear seats offer plenty of comfort with 10-way power adjustments for the front on this particular LTZ trim. The rear bench offers up plenty of legroom for three across, even with the fronts adjusted back.

This is where the troupe points out an important trait: that it is no wonder the crew cab pickup has become a replacement for the traditional family sedan.. the roominess and features available in 2020 are nothing short of phenomenal. The Safety Package comes highly recommended here, which adds rear cross-traffic alert, front/rear park assist, and lane change/blind zone alert.

The trailer camera package along with the advanced trailering package adds up to a tow rating of 7,600 pounds, perfect for a Chevy Camaro set up for SCCA racing! While summing everything up at the end of the article, it is even said that this is probably the engine he would choose for being most competent and reliable. If you're looking into a vehicle with a good type of resale value, this is one of your top choices, as America's appetite for diesel has anything but cooled down!

2021 Chevy Suburban RST Spied Uncovered in the Wild by Motor1.com

Chris Bruce of Motor1.com was busy this week chasing down the story regarding spy shots that gave a substantial peek at the new 2021 Chevy Suburban RST. These photos depict it out on the road without any camouflage, and it is immediately noticed how the RST receives dark front fascia trim color. It rides on 22-inch wheels with V-shaped spokes, and the different trim pieces on the exterior are in a mix of black and chrome. The new model rides on a completely new platform, sporting 1.3 more inches in length and a 4.1-inch longer wheelbase.

The Tahoe and Suburban both now have a multi-link, independent rear suspension, which will no doubt make way for a much smoother ride on the road. Features such as Magnetic Ride Control and an Air Ride Adaptive suspension are options depending on trim level: The Autoblog staff had test-driven both the Suburban and the Tahoe recently to see how it fared, and they concluded that it was much more comfortable over bumps and the rough patches than the grave competition in the form of the Ford Expedition.

The RST comes standard with a 5.3-liter V8 that generates 355 horsepower and features cylinder deactivation as well as stop-start technology. One of the biggest demands that customers right here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson and many other dealerships nationwide have is in the infotainment category. In vehicles like this where there is the opportunity to sprawl out and enjoy DVDs and digital entertainment, small screens are absolutely not cutting it anymore, and the 10-inch diagonal one here will definitely suffice. To assure that every driver can find their perfect mix of utility and preference in design, the all-new Suburban offers six trims, each with their own unique qualities.
Making life a bit easier for passengers, very spacious new second-and third-row seats now offer plenty of legroom while also making it easy to move in and out of the cabin, and the Rear Seat Media System has two twin 12.6-inch displays to keep passengers occupied. An available Power Sliding Center Console can automatically slide back up to 10 inches, offering a convenient place to store items between the seats while also providing a storage drawer out of plain sight for valuables during travel.

Awesome enough that it has its own star on the Hollywood walk of fame, the Suburban is the large-sized and commanding presence on the road that only comes with years of refinement and perfection. The Car and Driver staff claim that they would heartily recommend the RST model, a sporty and aggressive appearance package that can also be equipped with the diesel engine!

What will be new for Next Year's Corvette? Slash Gear Outlines Changes

The 2021 Chevy Corvette C8 is getting ready to make its way to many dealerships like ours right here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson, and the word is that several highly-requested tweaks have taken place. The Slash Gear blog provided coverage this past week about the expected changes, as the 2021 Corvette Coupe and Convertible will see adjustments to some of the options and trims. It is fair to say that Chevy as a whole surprised many with the launch of the 2020 Corvette C8 and finally produced a mid-engined model after decades of speculation.

Even though this is a high-powered machine that doles out 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, the modest price was a real winning factor with journalists and car experts alike, as well as decent offerings on a standard trim. Now that it's time for a new model year, it does seem like Chevy is not straying too terribly far from what has already worked so well. The biggest change is in regards to the Magnetic Ride Control suspension. Until this year, if you've wanted this ingenious system, you needed to opt for the Z51 package.

It puts to use magnetorheological fluid which can be altered according to a magnetic field, to make changes to the suspension from soft through to firm. This year the suspension system will be offered as a standalone option, so you can opt to withhold the Brembo brakes, performance exhaust and rear axle ratio, electronic limited-slip differential, heavy-duty cooling system, and performance Michelin tires. Another change of major interest to buyers is the wireless CarPlay support. It will now be standard across the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims, and means that you can now connect directly with your iPhone and use the Apple interface without needing a dangling USB cable.

For the last year's model, wireless charging was only standard on the 2LT trim and above. On the outside, there are a few new color choices: the Blade Silver Metallic and Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat are no longer available and have been currently replaced by Red Mist Tintcoat and Silver Flare. The “Stingray R” package will add special graphics and matching wheel caps, and there will be a new assortment of full-length rain stripes available. There is the addition of a center hood “Stinger Stripe” option, available in Edge Yellow, Edge Red, Midnight Silver, or Carbon Flash.

The 3LT trim will now flaunt a Strike Yellow color scheme with Sky Cool gray inserts, and the other will use Jet Black with Sky Gray inserts. More carbon fiber accessories are coming, and the LPO High Wing and Door Intake Trim will be available in Visible Carbon Fiber. At the beginning of March, Chevy attended the Work Truck Expo and one of the displays featured this 2020 Corvette Stingray doled up as the Gray C8.R. It does make sense for the Chevy to focus on a “C8.R replica” as owners have always been passionate about the race team, and many would like to dress up their Corvettes to appear like those on the professional track.

2021 Chevy Camaro Coupe and Convertible Both see new Tech, Double Down on Legendary Pony Essence

The folks on staff at Motor Trend have always shown a large amount of love for the Camaro and featured the coupe and convertible on their blog last week as they both enter the 2021 model year. Even if the changes are on the minimal side, they still conclude with the statement that this is one of the most noteworthy cars in existence, and they were excited that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are now featured across the line.

The wireless charging feature was previously limited to the high-performance ZL1 trim and now will see availability on the higher-end 3LT and 2SS models. V-8 SS models that are equipped with the optional 10-speed automatic transmission are now available with what was the previously stick-shift-only 1LE performance package. Obtaining this package on an automatic SS replaces the trim's standard 2.77:1 final-drive ratio with the slightly shorter 2.85:1 rear-end gear. Also new for 2021, Camaro LT1 buyers will see the option to add the Redline Edition and RS packages to the entry-level 8-cylinder Camaro.

You won't be able to score the Rally Green or Garnet Red Tintcoat color options on the new model here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson, but we assure you that the raw and powerful core of this pony legend remains exactly the same! The LT and LS models still derive power from a standard 275-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine or an available 3.6-liter V6. SS and LT1 models will keep using the 455-hp 6.2-liter V8 underhood, and the top contender in the form of the ZL1 is powered by the 6.2-liter V8 that thunders down on any unsuspecting road with a whopping 650-hp.

The six-speed manual is standard for all models, and an 8-speed automatic is available on 4-cylinder Camaros, with a 10-speed automatic available on six and eight-cylinder models. The gallery on the blog here is stunning and shows a pristine red Camaro from every imaginable angle. The closeup of the front grille is particularly awesome, as well as the jet black and sinister tires. The 2021 Chevy Camaro is assembled by GM USA at the GM Lansing Grand River Factory, the only facility in the world to proudly construct the vehicle.

We expect that the 6th-generation Camaro will continue for the next two years and that an all-new future edition will launch sometime around 2023. There's a chance that that vehicle may be electric, but there's plenty of time for discussion and development before that arrival. With 8 levels of trim for the coupe and seven for the convertible, you'll be able to find the one that suits you best, and blast happily down the winding canyon or two-lane trial of your choice!

Autoblog Post Test Drive Notes on 2020 Chevy Blazer 3LT: “Stylish, Contemporary, and Chic”

The 2020 Chevy Blazer is now entering its second year of rebirth, and we can finally provide the answer to a question that many customers here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson have been asking: Will it have a new engine option? The answer is YES, and it comes in the form of a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, and it was the one under the hood for a test drive that the staff of Autoblog embarked on last week. This new variant produces 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, slotting below the 308-hp V6 and just above the naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder.
This turbo is now mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and comes as the standard motor for those who opt for the 2LT and 3LT trims. When paired with all-wheel drive, it is the most fuel-efficient Blazer engine choice, finishing across the line at 23 mpg combined, as opposed to the V6's 21 mpg combined rating. There is also now the ability to turn off the start-stop system, all seats are covered in perforated leather, and the front seats are heated. Rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and rear park assist now are on board as included safety systems.

While making your decision for a new vehicle this year, make sure to closely check out the Sound and Technology package: this is where you get the rear camera mirror, a 4.2-inch digital screen in the instrument cluster, navigation and additional power/USB outlets. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore thought that the Blazer is definitely one of the better-looking crossovers in its segment, and appreciated the design similarities that it shares with the Camaro. After a few long drives, he reflected that the Blazer is among the best handlers in its class and that Chevy is truly chiseling our way into a brand new identity of sorts with this release.

When Senior Editor John Snyder first tested the Blazer he wasn't as much a fan, but after seeing it in more colors out on the road, he gradually got used to its looks and was more impressed. He liked the power derived from the turbo motor and stated that the vehicle feels pleasantly wide in the way it delegates body roll during cornering.

Road Test Editor Zac Palmer has consistently been one of the auto reviewers that we have had our eyes on for concise information regarding auto performance the past few years. He concluded that the design stood out uniquely, and that it stoked much more interest than that of the sworn rival in the form of the Honda Passport. The ease-of-use as far as infotainment is concerned was a huge positive for Zac, who also had a great appreciation for the simple gauges and instrument cluster.

Kelley Blue Book Highlights 2021 Chevy Traverse's Added Safety Features, Exterior Update

Practical and always poised to heartily go the distance, the 2020 Traverse is one of those vehicles that everyone here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson admits is currently in its prime. When a busy family or small business owner lays out in grave detail what they need from a vehicle, this is many times the item that tops the list. Who said you have to go with tiny??! Many are raving about the commanding and solid drive they get every time they get the Traverse out on the road. The 2021 model goes on sale later this year, and the well-versed staff on duty at Kelley Blue Book took a close-up look at the exciting changes and additions this past week on their blog here.
The incoming model will boast new front and rear-end styling, revised interior seating, LED lighting, and the ultimate cloak of family security: six safety features standard on all models. There is also an expansion of models that offer adaptive cruise control and rear-seat safety alert. The front grille really is the heart and soul of an SUV's appearance when you notice it coming, and the new look for the Traverse features a redesigned front grille characterized by very thin LED lighting elements. The rear tail-lamps now also take form in LED unit fashion.

Once inside the cabin, the seating now provides options for the second and third-row positions, and there is a dual sky-scape 2-panel sunroof featuring a new rear power shade. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are both new features, and the instrument cluster now provides a slightly larger 8-inch drive information display. In this year's model, some of the driver-assist and life-saving safety features are only available on select models. On the 2021 Traverse, Adaptive Cruise Control will now be an option on 3LT, RS, and Premier models.
The Premier and High Country trim levels are two of the options we would love to have you explore during a test drive if you're on the hunt for absolutely the best we have to offer, and they both now see the addition of a rear-seat safety alert system. Automatic emergency braking and front pedestrian braking are introduced to all models, and included are lane keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alert, automatic high beams, and following distance indicator.

The all-important engine lineup continues what is current: it offers a 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine and 9-speed transmission. The choices of trim level are LS, LT, RS, Premier, and High Country. When equipped with the second-row bench seat, the Traverse accommodates up to 8, and second-row captain's chairs are included on RS, Premier and High Country models to provide seating for 7. The staff at Motor1.com also claimed that the significant improvements in safety gear were enough to make any growing family or young professional choose the Traverse, and we agree wholeheartedly!

The Popular Science Crew Claims After Intense Track runs That the new C8 Corvette “Draws Waves Like None Other in Memory”

Excitedly poised on the track at Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Nevada, the team from Popular Science was ready to test the new mid-engined C8 Corvette Stingray. Now hailed for having the same configuration of supercars such as Lamborghini and Ferrari, the C8 has been dominating auto headlines since its unveiling in a large airline hangar in California late last summer. Writer Dan Carney is getting ready to take his very first test drive, and his first move was to tighten the belts on the seats, which helps to hold the driver in position to focus on steering.
When the seat is ratcheted down, the HANS device is more secure, which (yes, a slight reality check) is more effective in the event of a crash. The Popular Science team's 'Vette was equipped with the 3LT premium equipment package, Z51 performance package, and magnetic ride adjustable sock absorbers. The 495-horsepower, 470 lb-ft, LT2 6.2-liter small black V8 to comes to life after you push the Start button, and Dan felt that the rumble of the engine was akin to a “ferocious blast of Nascar thunder” as his revs approached the 6,500 rpm mark.

Off of the track, the V8's fuel consumption is EPA-rated at 15 mpg during city driving and 27 mpg on the highway, which is way above average for a supercar. The rear-view mirror actually doubles as a display for a rearview camera that is mounted on top of the engine cover to provide an expansive view behind the car, that can't be achieved from anywhere inside the cockpit. The anchor of the center console is a rotary selector wheel that is mostly covered by a wrist rest that helps keep your hand stable while adjusting.

Once underway, the computer-controlled dual-clutch transmission can shift itself, or the driver can manually adjust upshifts and downshifts by using the steering column-mounted shift paddles. The Z51-equipped Stingray can launch to 60 mph from a complete standstill in 2.9 seconds, and by using automatic launch control, can accomplish it repeatedly. During a few very exciting laps, Dan noticed that one of the benefits of having its mass at a central point due to the mid-engine layout gives the driver many chances to balance the car once its slides at its limit.

The paddle shifters are as nice as what you would see on very high-priced European competitors, and their location on the steering column makes them easy to find every single time you look for them. Corvettes from years past endured a bit of criticism for the slight delay that occurred between a tug on the shift paddle to an actual transmission response. In this edition, engineers have wired the buttons directly to the transmission's shift controller, bypassing the car's Controller Area Network, and now sending shift requests as directly to the transmission as physically possible.

Many who passed by the track that day were in awe at this brand new addition to the All-American car landscape, and once inside, this is the most snug and “sheltered” feel in any Corvette, past or present. It is currently one of the hottest items on the planet, but we hope to see you soon at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson to talk about 'Vette or any other models' ownership, and make 2020 your most exciting year of cornering and pavement pounding yet!

GM Authority Delivers the Scoop on 2020 Chevy Spark Special Edition Model

The Chevy Spark is getting a sheer jolt of energy this year thanks to the unveiling of a new Special Edition model. Initially shows at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show earlier this month, it has also been making the rounds on various blogs such as GM Authority and social media sites like Instagram. It is now equipped with visual changes that help this hatch distinguish itself a bit from its various relatives. This is the car that has been praised for its energy, spunk, and attitude, and perfect for urban areas with streets on the narrow side.

The new Special Edition has a focus on adding to the appeal of the exterior, and now comes with Black Bow Tie emblems, a Black painted grille, Black daytime running lamp bezels, and 15-inch black-painted machined-finish alloy wheels. The new Special Edition version is only available on LT trim levels for the 2020 Chevy Spark. The 1LT trim is offered in two configurations, including the 1LT Manual, and the 1LT Automatic. They are both also equipped with the 1.4L LV7 inline four-cylinder engine. It is tuned to crank out 98 horsepower and 94 lb-ft of torque, sent directly to the front wheels.

The new spark will be available right here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson in the spring, ready to provide an incredibly economic and savvy choice for any Eco-conscious daily commuter. The Spark also received an update for the 2019 model year, when it was the recipient of a restyled front end, new wheel designs, fresh exterior paint and interior color options, Chevy Infotainment 3, new safety features, and two new USB ports. This is one of the last remaining cars in our lineup that is not an SUV, truck, or crossover, and many new graduates and young professionals out there have told us that they want to think small when it comes to size and big when it comes to EPA fuel rating!

In the city, you'll get 30 miles per gallon, and 38 on the highway. You can choose from funky and vibrant shades like Orange Burst, Caribbean Blue, Raspberry, and Passion Fruit. The ACTIV look features 15-inch aluminum wheels, roof rails, Rocker panel, fender trim, unique front and rear bumpers, Jet Black leatherette heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Whenever you hit the road in the Spark, you can be confident with the knowledge that 10 standard airbags, a high-strength steel safety cage, and other features such as Available Lane Departure Warning are always working double-time to keep you safe!

Supercharged V6-Clad 2020 Colorado Xtreme Featured in Carbuzz.com

After the complete and utter mastering of a 1,000-hp Camaro Convertible, Specialty Vehicle Engineering has now shifted their focus to the Chevy Colorado. All of us here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson are now getting to check out the 2020 Chevy Colorado Xtreme, a present-day throwback to the Chevrolet S-10 Xtreme sports truck from the 1990s. Made available for crew cab or extended-cab models, the Colorado Xtreme derives power from a 3.6-liter V6 cranked up to 455 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque.

It all uses a special in-house developed centrifugal supercharger with a unique head unit that features a planetary drive assembly instead of a traditional gear drive. This allows for spinning up to 90,000 rpm with no supercharger whine and provides a smooth ride as well as linear power band that boosts power up to 6,400 rpm. SVE's air-to-water intercooler system minimizes heat soak to help maintain optimal power at all times. There are other awesome upgrades like a composite Xtreme engine cover, black bowtie emblem, a custom dual exhaust, body-color painted fog lamp surrounds and a completely reworked suspension.

This suspension lowers the Colorado Xtreme by two inches at the front, and five inches at the rear. The 2020 Chevy Colorado Xtreme sports 20-inch five-spoke wheels that are currently available in satin black or gloss black wrapped in Michelin 275/45R20 Pilot Sport PS2S performance tires. Once inside, the front headrests feature embroidered red Xtreme logos and premium floor mats in black or cocoa dune alongside the Xtreme logo. Other super-cool optional upgrades include a heavy-duty sway bar, heavy-duty traction bars and bushings, a folding black tonneau cover, and a custom seat trim package for the front and rear seats that blend perfectly with the two factory interior colors.
At this point it looks as if only 100 of these special limited-edition 2020 Colorado trucks will be built, emphasizing just how unique and trailblazing they will be. The front-seat headroom of the Colorado was ranked the best in its class by the review staff at Cars.com, as well as for its connectivity and multimedia options. For 2020, a key fob-operated tailgate lock is available and the truck also now has a tire fill alert system. The available turbo-diesel engine includes an exhaust brake system to help reduce brake pad wear when descending steep grades, and we are proud of how comfortable a ride the Colorado lays down on the highway for a model that is so off-road ready.

2021 Chevy Equinox First Look Via Kelley Blue Book

The 2021 Equinox proudly marks the 3rd model year for this generation of the brand we love to represent's bestselling SUV. To keep things new, Chevy has given the 2021 model a completely new look up front, due to minor tweaks in the rear. Kelley Blue Book ran a feature with an up-close first look at the model and starts by pointing out that the sportier RS trim level available on the Blazer and Traverse will now come to the Equinox.

The front fascia is changed into what represents a bit more of a Camaro appearance, with slimmer headlights. The grille has been reshaped to be more horizontal, and the bar at the top  now extends into the lighting elements. The fog lights are set into larger openings that are styled more like air intakes, and there are brand new taillights in the rear. The Premier model receives newly-designed 19-inch wheels, and the RS trim is what brings a standout blackout look to the Equinox. The dark-finish items include the grille, 19” wheels, all badging, and lower bodyside trim. Inside there's a unique shift knob and black upholstery with red contrast stitching.

After seeing the arrival of the RS trim, the Midnight Edition and Sport Edition packages are discontinued for 2021. Now available on the Premier is automatic parking assist, and the optional surround-view camera and adaptive cruise control are available on the LT as well. Engine options are not changed as the same 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged two are the base power sources, with the first generating 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, and the second cranking out 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive can be had with either engine.
The seasoned folks on staff at Cnet.com also claimed that there is a bit more similarity now to the competitor Honda CR-V, which is not a bad thing in the least. Chevy's latest infotainment system carries both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the crossover now comes standard with lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, and a following-distance monitor.

Talk to us here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson about how you can also step up to option parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assist, and blind-spot monitoring. On display this month at the Chicago Auto Show, the new Equinox will be the choice of many young professionals, families, and students on the go, with the perfect balance of tech offerings and economic sensibility!

Camo-Laden 2021 Silverado Realtree Edition Featured in 1st State Update

The second collaboration between Chevy and the world's absolute coolest camo and outdoor equipment manufacturer has now taken place in the form of the 2021 Silverado Realtree Edition! The limited-run truck combines the rugged go-anywhere prowess of the Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss with custom graphics and flair from Realtree. This is where hunting and fishing enthusiasts truly acquire a truck that is perfectly matched to their favorite pastimes, and the Silverado continues to offer functionality and capability where it counts.

Just like all Trail Boss models, the Realtree edition comes equipped with a 2-inch factory suspension lift, 20-inch black wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT On-Off Road Tire and the Silverado's Z71 Off-Road Package. This is what offers up the ultimate in protection and go-anywhere functionality with monotube Rancho shocks, Hill Descent Control, automatic locking rear differential, skid plates, and an AutoTrac 2-speed transfer case. The RealTree Edition comes equipped with the 5.3-Liter V8 engine with 6-speed transmission and is also available with the juicier 6.2-Liter V8 that cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
In the blog feature offered up by the folks on staff at 1st State Update, they were immediately won over by the Realtree camouflage graphics on the exclusive exterior, as well as the interior door trim, and the logo on the standard bedliner. These outdoor-ready touches are accompanied by black Silverado and Z71 badging, black rectangular dual-exhaust tips, 4-inch black round assist steps and all-weather floor liners. The testing team on hand was also in love right away with the Silverado's Durabed, which offers the most standard cargo capacity in the segment, 12 standard tie-downs and a roll-formed steel bed floor boasting massive strength.
One of our favorites within the Realtree product line is the Excape camo: it is purposefully designed to appear unstructured while it imitates natural elements. It enhances the hunting experience for western big game hunters by enabling them to escape visual detection by blending into surroundings at distances from 400 to 20 yards and closer. It puts to use techniques perfected by apex predators, and many elements that can be found in various western terrain.

Realtree's founder Bill Jordan took his 35+ years of experience to work hard at  creating the world's most versatile patterns on the market, and these are simply “the goods” as far as any experienced outdoorsman is concerned. Come check out this new model soon here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson, and experience the thrill of hiding in the brush “from the ground up”!

Carbuzz Features Leaked 2021 Chevy Equinox Blazer-Inspired Facelift Shots

It was two years ago that the redesigned Equinox was released to the public, and leaked photos gleaned via Carbuzz last week confirmed that this very popular crossover will get a facelift for the 2021 model. Heavily borrowing on cues from the Chevy Blazer, the front features brand new headlights with a split design, as well as a bumper that has seen some tweaks and a smaller grille. The side profile still looks identical to what is seen on the current model, and the rear sees updates in the form of a new bumper, and redesigned taillights.

The leaked photos are of an RS model featuring black-out parts such as a darkened grille, wheels, and mirror caps, as well as a quad exhaust system and more aggressive-looking front bumper. It's safe to assume the engine in question will be the same 1.3-liter 3-cylinder engine seen in the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer. While situated in the Trailblazer, this one cranks out 155 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque, but it is not clear if this engine will carry over the US variant. In the States, the Chevy Equinox is offered with a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that makes 170 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder making 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.

GM Authority and a few other media outlets claimed that there was the possibility of a high-performance model, but solid evidence of this has not yet materialized. For a higher-performance version, a plausible candidate for the engine could be the all-new 2.7-Liter I-4 L3B Turbocharged engine, that has found a home in the 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500, and 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. In these trucks, the L3B engine makes 310 horsepower, and 348 lb-ft of torque, which would most likely only drop slightly when dropped into the Equinox.
The cabin may also see minor updates and new active safety features, but the infotainment
technology should carryover unchanged from the current, pre-facelift model. There were other spy shots seen here from Motor1.com that may show the eventual production version, showing a white model with the facelift. All of us here at O’Rielly Chevy of Tucson have paid close attention to the fact that the Equinox was the only American crossover with ranking in the top 10 best-selling vehicles last year, and so that’s why this refresh was not too intense, as to not upset what is already working out well. Come to visit us for a test drive of the Equinox soon and experience the well-crafted and durable crossover that is the perfect way to begin your New Year!

Stats Closeup Comparison Via Car and Driver: 2021 Chevy Tahoe Vs. GMC Yukon

The very latest Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon have just lately been announced, much to the delight of large SUV lovers everywhere. Both are slated to come out this summer as 2021 models, and the only real difference between the two was the badge. For these models, when you closely compare as Car and Driver did on their blog last week, you'll find some unique styling cues and features. After checking out this comparison, you can base your choice on which aesthetics and personality bits suit you best.

The two vehicles ride on GM's newest T1 truck platform, which also is present under the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups. Both brands' new SUVs are larger than their predecessors on the outside and have more space on the inside. The Yukon and Tahoe get a 10-speed automatic transmission across the board, with three engine choices. The base engine is a 5.3-liter V-8 that makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and there's also a 6.2-liter V-8 cranking out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both are brought over from the last generation of Yukon and Tahoe, but the new versions brandish smarter cylinder deactivation systems and stop/start systems.

There's also a third engine choice: a turbodiesel 3.0-liter inline-six that made its first appearance on the Silverado and Sierra pickups. This engine delivers 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, with the ability to post a 30-mpg highway EPA fuel-economy rating. The Yukon is now the recipient of an advanced drive system dubbed Active Response 4WD, which puts to use an electronic limited-slip differential that manages all-important traction and power distribution levels. This system is also used in the very performance-rich scenarios of the Corvette and Camaro and is one trait that makes the Yukon the better choice for off-roading and low-grip situations.

On the new models, the only similarities in the exterior design are the nearly identical top-down and side views. Other than that, the grille on the Tahoe is wider, and the headlights are now much narrower and higher up compared to the Yukon. In the rear, the SUVs now sport markedly different liftgates and taillights, which were nearly identical on the outbound models. For the Yukon on every trim except for the high-end Denali, the climate control panel, screen setup, and switchgear are the same on both SUVs. The differences lie in the badges on the steering wheel, interior color schemes, and trim materials themselves.

There is a completely different dashboard setup on the Yukon Denali, as the screen now sits lower on the dash and there are two larger HVAC vents just above it. The Denali model also boasts much nicer leather and wood materials. After you visit us here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson for a test drive, you'll also notice that both SUV models include optional air suspensions, 15-inch head-up displays, active grille shutters, and a list of safety and driver-assist features. When spring hits, there will be nothing more satisfying than having the family in tow while enjoying the best in comfort and go-anywhere quality that this pair offer up with pride!

GM Authority Celebrates 2021 Chevy Silverado Carhartt Edition With Live Photo Gallery

When special editions for a vehicle are released, everyone here at O'Rielly Chevy of Tucson would have to agree that it presents a great opportunity to reflect on greatness and longstanding pride. The Chevy Silverado is one of those trucks that greatness and excellence are descriptive of, and a longstanding partnership with Carhartt immediately made sense. This production-ready special edition truck delivers on a concept that debuted at the 2016 SEMA Show and revels in a flair that this ultra-cool work apparel company shared a vision and ultimate venture with.

The folks on staff at GM Authority put up this cool gallery showing highlights of the unveiling, and you can get a close-up digital walk around this special edition that is based on the Silverado 2500HD LTZ Crew Cab model. It comes with the optional Z71 Off-Road Package and is offered only in Mosaic Black Metallic paint, which is the perfect choice to blend with the Carhartt gold pinstripes. The traditionally huge grille up front is all black, and so are the front and rear body-colored bumpers. There is Carhartt badging on the doors and tailgate, as well as exclusive two-tone leather upholstery finished in a Jet Black/Carhartt Brown combo inside.
The headrests have Carhartt badging embroidered into them, and the footwells are lined by-all-weather floor mats sporting the Carhartt logos. A special leather treatment was created just for this edition, creating the unique two-tone seats for the truck. This Dearborn, Michigan-based brand has long been a popular staple in the work wear realm, and on scores of construction sites and railroad hubs nationwide. The family-managed and owned company has been at the forefront of developing rugged and reliable work wear since 1889. When the concept vehicle was first shown at SEMA, the exciting response from consumers exceeded the expectation of both Chevy and Carhartt.

This top-notch apparel company so popular among carpenters, mechanics, and road crews will now be hailed in a special partnership as the “Official Workwear of Chevy Trucks”, as Chevy employees will be proudly sporting Carhartt apparel during numerous events over the years to come. Both brands have more than 100 years of history rooted in the Motor City, and both brands have a reputation for always delivering the best in durable and quality products.
Carhartt’s first product ever was the bib overall, which was an immediate success. These are
both brands that are focused on creating products that are practical, ready for inclement
weather, and built to last for years: we couldn’t be more excited about this very cool special edition, and the many miles diehard fans can’t wait to put on it!
